Die Geburt Christi by Heinrich Herzogenberg

Special guests for the October performances will be the Opera Idaho Children's Choir in an oratorio by Austrian composer, Heinrich Herzogenberg. Herzogenberg and his wife Elisabeth were friends of Johannes Brahms and they exchanged letters often. Herzogenberg's op. 90 was written in 1894 and tells the story of the birth of Christ. This church oratorio was chosen especially for our season theme, "Music for All Ages", and it features a little bit of something for everyone; familiar melodies, children's chorus, men's quartet, beautiful orchestration, and grand organ sounds.
Adults: $18 for General Admission; $15 for Seniors; Students of all ages are always free

For the April concerts, the Chorale will feature the Capitol City Children's Chorus in a performance of John Rutter's "Mass for the Children". The music of English composer John Rutter is not unfamiliar to Boise Master Chorale audiences. His Mass of the Children, for soprano, baritone, children's choir, adult choir and orchestra, was premiered at Carnegie Hall in 2003. This inspirational music provides a beautiful conclusion to our concert season.
